I’m sure many of you have already seen the trailers for Watchmen, but if you haven’t, you can see them here. Here’s a cool behind the scenes video about the making of.
Based on the trailer, it looks like it’ll be one of next year’s biggest movies. It looks pretty badass if you ask me.
On another note, I just read an article over the copyrights of this movie. Apparently, FOX owns the rights to Watchmen. Its kind of a weird situation because FOX has owned the rights for over 20 years. So WB messed up on their end, giving the green light to the movie without making sure they had the rights. Meanwhile, FOX waited until now to claim their copyrights, after the whole movie was made, and all the marketing has hyped it up to be one of the biggest movies of 2009. Hopefully this won’t effect the release or any creative aspects of the movie. And I guess the two studios will just have to share some of the proceeds with each other for what looks to be an awesome movie.

CAN’T WAIT!!!
I heard about the problems with FOX and WB and how it might not be shown last October (or thereabouts). Put a major bummer on my mood when I head it pfft. I hope nothing stops or pushes back the release. *crosses fingers*
I am looking forward to The Watchmen. They had been advertising it along with The Spirit. I haven’t been in the movies since The Dark Knight (which was Fan-freakin-tastic). Movies are just not the same. It use to be I could spend all day at the movies. Buy a few tickets, and watch some good movies. Now, I literally have to make myself go to the movies to see this crap hoe-llywood is producing. I’m still trying to figure out what the heck Speedracer was<– I can’t make myself watch it. Plus, stupid me thought BI was playing Speed, HA! No wonder someone asked me was I doing drugs. Guess I’ll see it when it comes on TV.
I was looking forward to The Spirit, too. Only to be disappointed in the end.
I hope it’s not the same with The Watchmen, because the book, and itunes thing (which I hear) is pretty good. I’m really not all that surprised about the copyrights. These producers don’t have a creative bone in their bodies. They have always stole from someone, or somewhere else.
How can Justin just back and watch this? WHERE IS HE????? We need him to save us from the black hole that is hollywood hell!
I remember seeing the cast on the cover of Entertainment Weekly back in the summer. So it’s been a good little while. I thought it was a tv show, not a movie.
Fox has a court date, January 20, 2009. So maybe after that date, we’ll know for sure what the fate of the movie is.
I liked the comments about single-camera and rich colors. I’ve never been into comic books or their related movies, but this film could turn me into a believer…
I heard about the prob. Fox was just waiting to see if it turned out good and if it would make money. So they can come in an claim rights to it .
I’m re-reading Watchmen right now. Incredible.
