Gran Torino!!!

This movie looks interesting. Clint Eastwood is the definition of an icon. Yet he continues to create and explore issues and worlds that we most people in the “industry” shy away from. I’m excited to see a movie like this and I hope the rest of America will be too.

Comfort Food: Pork Sandwich

Everyone has comfort food. What is comfort food? It is that food that takes you to that childhood place where you grew up. It might be spaghetti, it might be pigs feet, it might be collard greens, it might be a special sundae, it might be a don tot, it might be kimchi, it might be a pastry….Whatever it may be we all know it when we see it and taste it. Every person, regardless of their culture, race, or background has comfort food that takes their tastebuds on a tantalizing journey. I found some comfort food the other night at The Pantry in downtown LA. In Georgia, they had these little stands that served bbq pork sandwiches. They were everywhere-just like the taco stands are everywhere. Well, my conclusion, they know how to make their bbq pork sandwiches down here. What’s your comfort food?

Officer Couture

This was a fun shoot. The police didn’t really like this militant Oakley wearing soldier in the middle of their Times Square. But if they let a naked cowboy stand there, they should let a maroon boot wearing Officer do the same.

Miracle at St. Anna

Spike Lee’s film career can be described as honorable, original, and revolutionary.  His subject matter has almost always been controversial, but has never been over used as a gimmick.  His command of the craft is truly one of an true auteur. Miracle at St. Anna’s is the culmination of craft, ability, and great epic storytelling.  I know a lot of people will not be seeing this movie in theaters, but it is a movie that truly deserves an audience.  I won’t break the movie down into structure, I will only tell you that the passion that was behind this movie is felt deeply throughout every aspect of this cinematic experience.

Serenity NOW!!!

Why do gas prices play with our emotions? A couple months ago, gas was a dollar more than what it is now. What is going on here? And why is gas almost a dollar more in certain states? There are too many reasons, too many catastrophes, too many news events, too many world conflicts, to really figure out this direct correlation. If you want to see trends, check out gasbuddy.com. But it’ll probably just lead to more questions. But with more questions, there are more answers, and with more answers there is hope. Yes we can…

You can vote however you like….

For all you readers out here in the U.S., hopefully you’re all aware that today is the day to vote. I know I haven’t been saying too much about it, but I do encourage all of you with the right to excercise it. I must say that the internet has helped in countless ways in encouraging our younger generation to go out and vote. Here’s my favorite video (posted on Arowana Films) that I’ve seen to encourage people go out and vote.

Indie Exec!

Here’s the second from the set of videos that I did in a collaboration with Jump Corp and Arowana Films. There’s still more of these shorts to come, so be ready for them.

Well, hello, beautiful.

Here’s an article I stumbled upon talking about what movie characters that you shouldn’t dress up as today. It might be a little late as most people should’ve gotten their costumes by now, but I’ll post it anyways. The top two really do make sense to me. Number two is Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder. As funny as he was in the movie, it just sounds like a recipe for trouble.

The number one character is the Joker (Heath Ledger) from the Dark Knight. I’m on the border with this one. On the positive side, your paying tribute to an amazing actor.

At the same time, nobody can pull it off like him, and this is likely going to be the most common costumes for guys. They did have a good suggestion though. If you really have to be Joker this halloween, you better go all out, and be Nurse Joker.

Sneaker Deluxe!

I know some of you remember some print ads that I did with Jump Corp. Well here’s the first from the set of videos that I did at the same time in a collaboration with Jump Corp and Arowana Films. There’s more of these shorts to come, so be on the lookout.

Youtube Delivering Hollywood

I don’t know if any of you have seen the Youtube Screening Room, but they’ve just started showing their first feature length film on the site. The quality definitely better than other youtube videos, but it’s still a little lacking if you watch it in the full screen mode. Apparently, they release four new films every two weeks. Hopefully they’ll keep the old ones up as well to build up a nice little library of films to watch. It may just be a coincidence, but the first set of films all seem to have an Asian theme to them. The feature that they are showing is “The Princess of Nebraska” (directed by Wayne Wang). The other three shorts that they’re screening are The Chestnut Tree (South Korea), Scab (Japan), and The Tired City (Hong Kong). I haven’t had the time to watch any of them, but maybe some of you can chime in with some reviews on them.
