Oldboy

Oldboy is a korean movie that has already become a classic in the 5 years since its been released. I’m sure many of you that follow korean movies have already seen it, but its definitely movie worth watching. Park Chan-wook is an amazing director who totally draws you into his world. Now this movie isn’t for the faint of heart, but no matter how much you are enjoying this movie, you won’t be able to turn it off. You’re taken on an exciting journey alongside Oh Dae-su, while he tries to piece together what has happened to him for the last 15 years.

That movie was OFF THE HOOK!!!!
Dae-Su was taking names and whipping ***… Literally!

The plot of the movie was a little sick though…
Okay it was REALLY TWISTED….
Only watch this movie if you have a strong stomach for some of the themes in it, because it’s really out there.

One of my most favorite movies EVER! I got it way before it came to America through a very serendipitous recommendation. I didn’t think it was coming to Nashville and was prepared to take an entire crew of my friends who had not seen it to Atlanta if need be, so we could see it on the big screen! Luckily it did come and they all finally knew why it was well worth seeing in a theater. I LOVE the entire vengeance trilogy and his short in 3 Extremes.

I saw this movie a while ago. It is based on a Japanese cartoon, I heard. The same director made “Sincere Ms. Kum ja” (I’m not sure the exact English title, but hope you know which movie I’m talking about here.” I kind of like that movie, too.

It was based off of a Japanese Manga or Comic Book of the same name. I am not sure that it was made into anime. The thir movie in the trilogy directly translated was Kindhearted Ms. Kum Ja” but was released in the U.S. as “Lady Vengeance”.
I think it is best to see Oldboy first, then Sympathy for Mr,. Vengeance, the Lady Vengeance.

Actually it was based off of the human soul’s capacity for revenge. Similiar themed stories have been told via comics and animation as it is a pretty universally explored theme. Great movie!

Oh this movie is sort of a classic in Korea, and as it trickles in everywhere else in the world, it’s getting newer fan bases. It’s really dark, but even if that’s not your genre of movie, you’ll find yourself loving this for the tremendous acting alone. The story is so engrossing. Overall, it’s a great popcorn movie. You will be thoroughly entertained! I know about this movie and I’m not even Korean!
