Negotiations Begin

So it looks like the negotiations (according to the L.A. Times) have began between SAG and the Hollywood Studios. Hopefully our negotiators and the studios will come to terms a little faster than the WGA and the studios did. I don’t think anybody wants to go through another strike. Oh well, we’ll see what happens. There’s still a couple months before our contract expires. I’m optimistic for now.

Man, glad that’s coming to a head. I kinda agree with the writers. They are the creative geniuses behind the art. But then, when it comes down to business and costs, I’m lost as to how that works for Hollywood. I guess it kinda sucks for everyone involved (the actors/actresses, producers, directors, and writers) because everyone deserves their fair share. Hope it all works out for everyone.

I’ve heard, through various grapevines, that everyone has felt at loose ends. Best of luck… I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I used to be a writer in college. It was lots of fun. I wonder how you get into it in Hollywood?
