“Jack is dead my friend. You can call me, Joker.”

Heres a cool video I stumbled on. It has a young Jack Nicholson endorsing a hydrogen powered Chevy way back in the 70’s. None of the technology is new, but it’s still interesting to see how this video relates to all these issues that are still so relevent 30 years later.

Hmm…wonder why this setup isn’t readily available today? I imagine, this being a slightly dangerous car. The risk of explosion could be too great.

Ah, everything old is new again. That was filmed before I was born and we still don’t seem any closer to making pollution-free cars a reality for everyone.

It appears that the exhaust of the hydrogen engine is water vapor. I wonder if putting excess water vapor into the atmosphere would cause any ecological problems?

It makes you wonder what our society has been up to since. Is the world really about progression or perhaps, wallowing in great ideas instead?

One thing is for certain. People are going to laugh at us in history books.

I have a great candidate for a contributor to your cause (regarding orphans).

My apologies to Sung, but here I go again promoting my industry. Solar power my friends! Now if only we can get the government off it’s behind, we could get the ball rolling. Solar powered cars, anyone? Here’s an article about the latest solar energy discovery:

Damm it Janet!. hee hee just had to say it. This solar powered stuff has been around for ages. It beats me why it hasn’t been fully adapted and made mainstream sooner. I remember having a solar hot water system growing up.

Funny, Catherine. You are showing your age…LOL!!! I’m new to the industry, but I really believe in the stuff. But the government is a pain in the behind. Clinging to it’s reliance on oil and the oil companies are greedy. Solar is still a bit tricky, but if you read the article I posted, they are making discoveries everyday to help make solar work better and cheaper.

I’m assuming “Damn it Janet” is from R.H.P.S? I’m only 24… does this mean I’m showing my age too?! *dies of the thought*

Anywho, I agree… 30 years and we are STILL trying to get gas free cars… as usual… money money money… It’s always about money… ._.;

Janet what’s this age thing hah! Just how young do you think I am??? My family had a solar hot water system in the 80’s.

I sadly second joey’s comment. I just watched this program on NOVA about “Global Dimming” and got a sick feeling. The problem is way more complex than most people think-perhaps I’m the last person to be know, but anyhow, here’s the link:

ok, when I went to college (in the 80’s) , computers still used those little cards with the holes in them…….that’s old! LOL!!!

and yes, we are referring to RHPS. I even knew a kid named Brad once. But he was only 13 and I was 19….that’s asking for trouble.

I think my fav Jack movie was the Witches of Eastwick…he plays the devil, in case you didn’t know. Perfect role for him.

Did you know some scientists in Ireland are making spray on solar cells. Can you imagine? Slap some paint on your roof and you can heat your house. I’m telling you, we need to go solar.

My company is trying to work with the UN to help bring solar power to rural Africa. We all need to do our part.

My personal thanks to Sung for these great articles. It keeps people talking and thinking about important stuff.

WOW Janet you are OLD! LOL compared to me. I was in primary school in the 80’s. Until last year I had never watched the end of RHPS. I thought the end was disappointing. Yes I am a genX but just to stir… people are still seriously thinking I’m 23/25. It’s ok if your jealous I understand it’s hard to take it. LMAO. Your never to old to never grow up! and Well to be extra cheeky (a friend quoted this) Your only as old as the person your feeling up!. 13 and 19 is hardly an age difference Janet.

Yeah this is a pretty crazy issue I think chevy actually made one how ever was destroyed by none other but a man who owned a crap load of gas . So I heard I, may be sounding stupid and have to search for the show on my dvr agian but it was on the history channel.

and I have to say If I was ever to get a zero emissons car and someday I will I want the Chevy EV1 which is probably old a decrepid . But ,the EV1 had a top speed of 80 mph, had a range of 80 miles, and could accelerate from 0 to 50 mph in less than 7 seconds.Or if Chevy comes out with another hydrogen car soon and it doesnt get destoryed I may look into it .
