I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays as much as I did. Anyways, here’s a cool video I found about some extreme athletes. These guys are nuts. They pretty much come as close to flying people as you can get. Just watch the video and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Glad you had a good one. That is pretty cool. Looks like they almost came close to hitting the side of the mountains a little. Looks like fun to do. I would try it.
Adrenaline/adventure tripper here *grin* so heck yeah, that looks like fun! That is SO cool. Would think really hard before doing something like that, but why not?
Mind-blowing. I’d try hangliding, but this human’batsuit stuff is a little much for me.
Enjoying the holidays. It’s amazing to me that some people don’t. It’s largely a matter of finding the enjoyment and letting yourself experience it.
Hi I’m back had a pretty good xmas and new years eve even though I was working. I think I’ll stick to my sky diving idea or just indoor rockclimbing. Base jumping is arhhh to start with, this just makes it insane. Oh I’ll be going to Canberra again soon Elena. I’ll try to find time to go to that Japanese restaurant ‘Sakura’ again just to see what experience I have this time. Have new goal in life this year to go to the beach as often as possible. Hmm gives me a real purpose to work as well as the usual women been born to shop ethos. lol.
A Happy New Year to all,
talk about Extreme, these guys are nuts.i was in awe watching that.thanks for the clip.
Such a beautiful place, stunning views but the sports thats extremely mad! my soul would jump out of my body if i did that
I know its a wee bit too late but nevertheless its still January so Happy New Year to you Sung Kang and to all!
Mr. Kang hope you had a worthwhile holiday.
Wingsuit base jumping is some extreme stuff.

hi
Have any of you seen video footage of the annual ‘cheese rolling’ in England?
Talk about extreme!
It is the most hilarious sporting tradition in existence-
It certainly takes some guts (and maybe some stupidity).
Seriously- do a google search and take a look!
And happy 2009 to you all
I have seen the cheese rolling and I think it is funny . But I also think Sharon Osbourne fight is funny. Best fight ever on reality TV.
It takes a lot of guts to fly off a mountain and into rocky terrain. Although it looks a wee bit terrifying. This looks like something that would be so much fun to do. Plus would take tons of preparation both mentally and physically.
The way the suit looks reminds me of flying squirrels.
I’d be worried about people base jumping in the winter, with skis flying all over the place. I wonder how many skis they go through. They probably littered the area with a lot of old skis, as it would probably be too hard to try to find them after jumping off the cliff.
I’ve seen cheese rolling on tv, Miss Allie. That is a hilarious sport. I don’t think I’d try it, though!
Miss Allie, Sung babe has already put a blog on here about extreme sports and included the cheese rolling in England thing in it. In relation to that previous blog my surfie mate does the surf/parachuting thing, maybe I’ll take it up once I’ve perfected surfing. The more I watch this flying video the more I’m tempted to want to try it hmm maybe I’m just too tied or something must go skydiving first.
sung did post the cheese rolling thing back in august but she might of not seen it or it was just on her mind. He also posts alot of different kinds of skydiving. This one is different. Skydiving, rock climing, cave diving, and rafting are fun to me. I have done them alot and enjoy them but, I have not seen this one and thinking about doing it. Looks fun.
Catherine, I am fairly new to this blog (as some others may be also)
and had not seen the earlier post on cheese rolling.
What does it matter if someone brings up a past topic?
If just one person was prompted to look it up and have a laugh-
I’m happy.
hm…just saw “destroyed in seconds” the other day. some guy tried this (he had already done this hundreds of times before), and he either mis judged the distance to the mountain or the wind factory. anyway, he was getting close to the mountain, freaked out, and pulled his parachute, but he fell into a tree right after, and ended up getting pretty busted up.
if you’re gonna play, just be ready to pay.
Trust me I know. If you’re going play, you going to pay I have some scars to prove it. I fell one time rock climbing. I was very lucky about that.
Ditto that. I’ve twisted/sprained my ankle, wrist and various other appendages over the years so many times from all the stuff I’ve tried to do. No stranger to scars, either.
I’ve said it before… it’s amazing to me the things people think up to potentially mangle themselves. I just don’t find this possibility thrilling in the slightest. Death doesn’t bother me… the path leading to it does… I think I’m allergic to pain and fear.
Living vicariously has its moments… I’ll be rocking in my chair like granny and watching the fools from a distance… I don’t want to get blood on me.
My exhusband was a bit of the thrill-seeker. I made him get a life-insurance policy and told him to go have fun “over there”… somewhere at a distance from me as he wasn’t “taking me with him”. A ski-jacket I bought him did save his life one-time he went off the side of a mountain… acted as an airbag when he collided with a tree along his kidney-line. Ah… fun times. humph.
=)
Ouch! to that Teresa Ellis, some companies won’t insure you if your going off deliberately doing crazy stuff or the premiums are huge I guess your exhusband has to pay for it all by himself without stripping your pocket anymore. Miss Allie, so what! back to you. You might check out some of the previous stuff Sung’s put on here some of it’s really cool.
Catherine, never had a problem with insurance… he looked pretty normal until he strapped on the skates or the skiis… at any rate, don’t know if he kept the policy after “us” as he only got it for me in the first place. I worried a few times that he would make me a widow… back when I actually liked him. He is someone else’s concern now… “concern” was not the first word in my mind. lol.
I don’t know… I tried very hard not to hamper him in his… uh… endeavors. There was only one activity I literally put my foot down on… and of course, it was his decision to respect my wishes.
How do these people… these extremists figure out that their equipment is gonna be sufficient for this… stuff? Who tests it? I can’t imagine using it even after seeing it successfully used a hundred times. Only takes once to be disastrous… you know?
