First of all, I wanted to let you guys know that I’m fine after the Earthquake the other day. And I also wanted to thank you guys for all your concerns.

Here’s two more sites (similar to Freerice): The Child Health Site and The Literacy Site that let us all help donate to children in need. This company actually has six websites total benefiting hunger, breast cancer, rainforest, and animals. All you have to do is simply browse their site, and click on some of the ads. Revenue from the companies being advertised will benefit the children. This is a great way for us to help others regardless of our own financial situation. By the way, are any of you guys still playing Freerice.com? I’m at about 4000 grains of rice and a larger vocabulary.

Oh, my heart goes out. Having kids of my own, any organization I pray and hope get’s the right attention it so deserves. Who get’s overlooked most of the time are those who spent countless hours and $$, so thank you, thank you to those who do more than read a few lines or who click a few buttons, which also cannot be overlooked, because of finanical commitments. Anything to do with kids, because i’m a single mom, of 3 grown teenage girls, these tug at my heart strings. To serve others, isn’t that an example we are all supposed to follow? Thank you Lord!
ooops… I am soo sorry… I now pledge a few minutes every morning… or early afternoon =) to Freerice.com… I was up to 2,000 and pfbbbt….
thanks for the reminder… it is a good thing to do and kind of fun.
Thanks for letting us know about these, Sung. As soon as I post my blog, I’m going to check these out. I am not in a position to give cash right now, but I look forward to the day I can–again. But checking out these sites is something I can do today. There is so much need in the world, and we can all do something about it.
Than you, Sung, for passing out the word about those sites. Now there is a better chance for the children. Once I get my own blog going I’ll be posting them on there too. I’ve never heard of Freerice, I’ll have to go and check that out.
Glad to know you are ok. Good to know about these sites. My company is doing it’s own part. We provide electrification for rural Africa and solar pumping stations which provide clean water. Everyone should do their part in some way, even if it’s small. Take care everyone!
Another great charity site is AIDtoCHILDREN.com. It donates money to children in need through World Vision.
Check it out at http://www.aidtochildren.com
Great! Here in Brazil I help one organization too,but for kids who have some mental problems and it’s kinda an orphange too, is called CASA MARIA MAIA.
We organize parties to raise some money, clothes and toys for donation.
Well,keep doing your thing.
Glad your all right Sung. I’ve never been through a tremour or an earthquake to know how scary they can be. Oz is on one singular plate so we don’t get them. What saddens me most about these causes is that it shows up how hugh the of lack of support is from governments. Even for children born with disabilities. In OZ I have a friend whose daughter was born with spina bifida. They and other parents with children with these sort of disabilities even learning disabilities seem to fall throught the cracks in terms of support. Currently I’ve been hanging out with some teenagers who’ve been kicked out of school for the most absurd reasons. Most of these teenagers can’t read or write. So much for getting an education. I’ve come across people (myself included) who’ve god knows how have pulled off finishing year 12/college and they can’t read (yes I can my mother made sure I could) because they had learning problems etc and governments have given them no support. I hope someone can take over DORE and get them going again because my life would never have been as good as it is now without them.
Okay… freerice.com… I’ve stayed with it so far and do about 500 per day. So far so good.
Where do they get those words? I thought my vocabulary was sufficient, but I’ve never heard most of those words… the level they use for me is either 42 or 45 daily. That’s enough. =)
Thanks for sharing these websites, its’ been awhile since I have been into the ones I know about - freerice and the breastcancer one. Like you say it is acheivable for those of us who are not financial to make a difference too.
