Here’s a cool article I found summing up this chaotic year of 2008 with photography. I was pretty much speechless after many of these photographs, so I’ll just let them speak for themselves. WARNING: There are some graphic images. And you can find captions for the images here at the original article.

These are some amazing shots. Some are so chilling though. The man carrying the body of a little boy just gets me the most.
And the US Marine firing his weapon is just unreal. I can’t imagine being there to witness and/or go through what all of these people have. If anything it shows you that life is precious and there are things that are beyond our control.
Thanks for the pics,most touching…
Thanks for the pictures Sung!
It is so scary that this day in age we as humans are still capable of such inhumane things…however with all the negative things going on in the world there are positive beautiful things as well and we need to strive to increase the positive! Every one in this world can make a difference and lets all do our bit in 2009!
Halfway through the pictures I just started crying. Then… yes I agree. It really made me think so hard for words to even be able to think of what to say.
These are some of the most powerful, poignant shots I’ve seen. It’s both so awe inspiring yet terrifying to see what power can do… human or otherwise, but the former more than the latter.
Chaos I think doesn’t even begin to sum it up. However, life and beauty can be found in even the simplest things. The balance is just what we all need to find, I think :).
Amazing pictures - thanks for posting. Its been quite a year, hasn’t it? I wonder what 2009 will bring.
When I looked at these pictures I was in awe. It is amazing what haumans are capable of when they come in to power. This day and age we need to learn to love people because if we dont were going to drives ourselfs in nonexistance.
Numerology wise I’m not surprised it’s being a caotic year, mine sure has had it’s revelations and lots of opportunities to grow spiritually and emotionally. I think the incoming year is going to be very powerful in terms of the personal and spiritual development of the world.
Thanks Sung … Have a Happy New Year…
They are some good pic’s
Pictures have a way of saying things that people don’t seem to hear when words are actually spoken. Some of these pictures were breathtaking, nature being nature, with it’s beauty and devastation. Cultural, tragic, things, events, that happened that just didn’t make sense, well in the hearts and minds of those that know better, that understand the what will happen if such and such things take place. And they did.
Life is such an emotional perplexity that we humans create, and then, that happens to us. I enjoyed the pictures here and there, with the captions.
they are some good pictures thanks, the one with the polar bear makes me thank how they are endangered and need to be saved as well as there enviorment
Always enjoy the pics you post. Some of them are so majestic and just at a loss for words.
The photo reflects our world around, and many pictures may compel to feel a different range of emotions.
The madness, death, loneliness, disintegration of cities, poverty, a life of criminals, war, – it is always reflected in a photo.
