Be Like Mike?

Heres another video posted by my friend over at angryasianman.com. Not to say that I like what Michael Jackson stands for, but you can’t deny his dancing skills in his prime. So here’s props to any impersonator who can pull off an ever so entertaining performance.

off topic a bit…I went to your link for angry Asian man and found an article about Indians and Edison, New Jersey. That’s not far from me. It’s a great little area for everything Indian. Also, up North, near Fort Lee is a great area for everything Japanese and Korean. There’s a fantastic place called Mitsuwa in Edgewater, NJ where you can get just about anything Asian. Have a great day!

that was really fun to watch. I enjoyed the looks on the panel’s faces too… especially Simon’s.

What does Michael Jackson stand for? I’m not sure I know. I usually don’t watch anything that reminds me of Michael Jackson… the whole situation is just too sticky for me to contemplate… too many questions or dysfunctions. As to his actual guilt or innocence, I have no clue so I don’t discuss that. However, to keep behaving in such a manner as to invite such scenarios… especially after the first time… is too simple… he should have known better. AND I believe that the parents were just as responsible.

What you said is true though, you can’t deny his talent.

Micheal Jackson once symbolized a lot Teresa. He played a role in many positive things in the political field, world hunger, feeding children, granted this is when he was about 15 or 20yrs younger. As he got older the fact that he missed out on his childhood and continued trying to reclaim it through his Neverland ranch begin to become more disturbing than innocent. At the end of the day Neverland is none existent but I think somewhere in Micheal’s mind it became reality. Like it was something he really could create. I don’t really don’t know either weather he was innocent or not in both his cases.
It’s true Micheal is talented, but really, what does talent or creativity have to do with anything when it comes at the price of your soul or sanity, or better yet, your peace? Is it really worth it?

ahhh…. “disturbing”… thanks, I couldn’t think of the perfect word to describe what I feel about him earlier…. “disturbed”… that’s it. About Michael, not Sung… Sorry, Sung, I seemed to have hi-jacked (or severely re-routed) your thread here.

I think the whole “reclaiming of the childhood” is minor, even, when compared to the whittling down of your facial features because you don’t like the way you look. I think he and his psychoses are much more complex than you or I can contemplate… but I definitely didn’t want to get into a discussion about him… the “disturbance factor”, you know.

However, being that we are “here”… I don’t think it was Michael’s talent or creativity that cost him his sanity or soul, if he has lost either… it seems more reasonable that it would have been his father’s dream of fame and fortune, his father’s relentless ambition that would have cost him these things, wouldn’t it?… of being forced into a mold that wasn’t of his choosing… of working every day for someone’s vision and plans and not being able to choose his own path. Been there, and I can tell you, nothing sucks the life or reason out of you more than that.

I have no idea if I have any talent but I create… my creativity has helped me to carve out a little place in an insane and chaotic world. It helps me to focus… it helps me to relieve pressure when I’m sure I’m about to blow up any second… it helps me to pick through my own chaotic thoughts to what is at the heart of any and every situation. It hasn’t cost me anything… rather, it has saved me… countless times.

AWESOME SIMPLY AWESOME its been such long time since i heard good Punjabi remix song cool.
the funny part is that the lyrics of the song playing behind are
“hun ki kareaye nachna anda nahein” which means

“what do now we really don’t know how to dance”

Well, Michael Jackson is still considered as one of the normal celebrities in Japan. Media treat him positively whenever he comes to Japan. I think Thriller was the first music video my dad bought when I was in elementary school.

Teresa that’s not what I meant by his talent costing him. Being talented or creative IS a saving part of human nature. Especially when it is used as an outlet, stress reliever, or whatever (granted as long as it’s positive).
I meant that his (talent, creativity) has pretty much been squandered or overlooked in many cases, because now when someone thinks of Micheal they instantly revert back to his younger days or his child molestation cases. Never the Micheal of now.
I think it really began when he opened his door to Oprah, and that other interviewer (i can’t remember his name) that after all that interview he ended up talking down about Micheal. I kind of feel for Micheal because media can make people see whatever they want you to see. It can truly be a monster.

Yeah, we’re kind of taking over here Sung, sorry. We really do appreciate this clip (and everything) . They are talented. Well, look at it this way, you’re giving us something to talk about. Thank you!

He does have talent. I hate to say it, but when I was an exercise instructor I used his music. But that’s about as far as I got. My favorite was Thriller, but only because of Vincent Price.
