A Dollar a Gallon!!!

I just saw this article predicting that gasoline prices will drop to a dollar a gallon sometime early next year. Six months ago, this is something that we all would have killed for. But now that its possible, its sort of brings up mixed feelings. I mean, it’s great and all for the final consumers. But at the same time, it just goes to show how bad our economy really is.
Here’s the original article that I found this in. I won’t list all the numbers regarding our economy because they’re kind of depressing if you ask me. But feel free to read the original article if you’d like. For now, I guess we can take the gas prices as a victory..and maybe a little jump start to getting our economy back on track.

Hey, I’m don’t speak english very well… i hope this no matter for you.. ** I’m from brazil =)
So, in Brazil we have a option to replace gasolina using alcohol that nearly cost less 35% to the consumers… I hope that price does not increase… because the brazilian economy is not so good today and I think that may worsen in the coming years.. you know..
I’m rooting fot the U.S. is soon recover from this crisis..

I find it to be a slap in the face. But at the same time, I’ll take it. When gas was $4 a gallon, we’re talking $60+ to fill my tank. Who has $60 a week to throw away? Now gas is $1.60 and $25 to fill up now.

Here where I live, same thing has happened. I get the feeling though that it’s lulling us into a false complacency. Prices have gone down about half a dollar per liter (which is a big deal already here), and with promises of going down even more. The economy is steadily worsening though, so I don’t see how they could say it’s for the good. I miss my car honestly but I’m kinda happy that it’s not running right now since it’s expensive to keep it on the road.

You guys have it so easy with the cost of gas & fuel. Here in Atlantic Canada, 6 months ago we were paying $6.00 per imp gal. which is a bit larger than a U.S. gallon.
Today were are paying $2.76 per imp Gal.

6 months ago, Diesel & furnace oil was over $7.00 per imp gal and is now $3.52 per imp gal.

i know im a bit late on this but im from australia and our petrol/gas prices are still pretty high. we pay $1.25 per LT not gallon. if we had to buy it by the gallon it would cost us about $9.00 per gallon!!!
