Despite all the controversy behind China and the olympics, it’s still a great place for some amazing athletes to showcase their skills. From what it seems like, most of the negative publicity has died down, and hopefully the we’ll all be able to concentrate on all the positive aspects of the upcoming Olympics. Here’s some great pictures of the facilities that China has been developing.oly1.jpgoly2.jpgoly3.jpgoly4.jpgoly5.jpgoly6.jpgoly7.jpgoly8.jpgoly9.jpgoly10.jpgoly11.jpgoly12.jpgoly13.jpgoly14.jpgoly15.jpgoly16.jpgoly17.jpgoly18.jpgoly19.jpgoly20.jpgoly21.jpgoly22.jpgoly23.jpgoly24.jpg

I think the Discovery channel is airing a show called “The People’s Republic of Capitalism” about us and China.

Great pictures.

Img #10 - looks like they’re getting ready for the tourists… BIG MONEY… and it looks like they have a gimmick to bring it in. lol.

Img #17 - um… I definitely do not do windows.

Img # 22 - I love those outfits! I want one! Of course I would probably wind up electrocuting myself in it. Fun times.

=)

My sentiments too. I am a total, geeky, unabashed Olympics nut and have been since 1984. Due to the 1980 boycott, ’84’s the first Olympics I can remember. I love the Olympics. Again, maybe I have such admiration and respect for them because I’m such a SORRY athlete. But maybe I just appreciate the pursuit of excellence and dreams. Only a month till showtime!

Great pics.

woot, bring on the Olympics
not sure what coverage I’ll get of my home country’s events though. Never mind
should be good. I intend to do an Olympic theme in my last week of Summer camp, complete with giving “gold” etc medals (made of card of course). Hopefully the students will have fun

I’m a former “jock,” (failed figure skater, volley ball player, track runner). The only sport I excelled at was English Show Jumping, but the money ran out (sport of kings, you know). I love the Olympics, and with the Internet, you can probably get access from anywhere. I personally prefer the Winter Games ( I love ice hockey), but I hate the cold! I guess that’s why I gave up skating.

I just laughed at the previous publicity. They have put in a lot of effort and I think the stadium is awesome. I hope the Olympics go well and may the best athletes win. Janet I love the winter Olympics too. I love Iceskating dispite the cold. We don’t have an iceskating rink in this town but we do have a rollerskating rink hmm maybe they should have rollerskating at the summer Olympics.

Yeah, if they had rollerskating, then Sung could compete, haahahaha

They had an Olympic Day for the kids at school. I was so excited when my daughters class picked Finland. I had Finnish neighbors growing up and they were the coolest people. I found these awsome videos of Matti Nykanen ski jumping. When you watched him, you really believed a man could fly!

I’m skateboarding this weekend, my own version of the Olympic Games.

Truth be told, I quit figure skating because I was severely pidgeon toed as a child. I had to go into NYC to get special ice skates made for me. I couldn’t do ballet, and I just couldn’t get my feet to straighten out. After lots of crying and heart ache, my mom agreed not to torture me anymore. Luckily for me, my pidgeon toed feet were perfect for English Show Jumping. Well, here’s hoping I can ride horses again someday. It’s just like riding a bike, you never really forget how to do it.

Hi - Not all up on the lingo of names and such, but the building that looks like a big ball of string, awesome building, some sort of stadium I’m guessing. Very pretty pictures.
Thanks for sharing….
